Mary-Lou's artist statement

I began exhibiting in the early 80's and over the years have been involved in producing not only 'one-off pieces' but developing a large range of domestic ware, employing up to 5 people by the early 90's.

In the past couple of years, my partner Chris and I have scaled down to just the two of us. We now produce everything ourselves and are finding that we want to spend more time on our 'one-off pieces'.

I am currently exploring the fine qualities of porcelain and combining these with my ongoing passion for decorative colour and form. I love to make work that will be used everyday and this interest in functionality continues with the new porcelain pieces.
